Although I promised Josip that I won’t make photos of every palm, sunset or cute window we see while sightseeing and celebrating our 8th anniversary, have to admit – I lied a little bit, as you see. These scenes were just too perfect. And he had to forgive me! Good boy (:! Vis is one of the most beautiful Croatian islands which was on our wishlist for a long time and now we are sure that this was not our last time there. We had only one day and a half to explore its beauties, which is definitely too short period. However, we managed to relax and truly enjoy it, as if we were on a long, long vacation.

Vec me prva voznja taksijem od luke do Komize potpuno osvojila. Iako, meni nikad dosta (shame on me).

Even with the very first taxi ride from the port to Komiza -little fishing village, this place won me totally over. You can really enjoy the cliff view while driving. Traditional stone houses with green window shades give the well known charm. I’m sure you already know I love calm and relaxed places, so this is one of them. Who’s been there – knows what I’m talking about, and for those who weren’t – I know you want to, especially after these photos.(: The southern coast is dotted with beautiful bays and secluded coves with perfectly clear turquoise sea. I think it’s the clearest water I have ever seen. Just perfect. In theory, few days or a week is enough for staying there. But in real life, I would never have enough of this charming place (shame on me). In my case, you will stay there for a day or two – which will be enough to walkaround, explore little narrow streets, try some good local sea food (recommendation for ”Barba” restaurant – delicious food, wine and atmosphere), visit the Blue or Green cave and of course – Stiniva beach – I’m sure you’ve all seen photos of Stiniva Bay already.

Stiniva. Skrivena i nedostizna ljepotica, pogotovo ako joj ”prilazite” autom.

Stiniva. A hidden and difficult to reach beauty, especially if you ”approach” it by the car. They said that the path down the cliff is really steep, heavy and long (it took us about 20 minutes), which I ignored and came in cute flip-flops, because: ” It’s Instagram age, Josip (shame on me 2)!’ One hour before, luckily, he bought me a pair of fishing shoes, so ”cute and glamorous”. They looked Terrible, but honestly, I would not be able to do this without them. So, thank you again Josip, you have always been my hero. Lesson learned – wear some comfortable trainers. All the way down, we’re meeting friendly tourists who were going up. One encourages us to go down, and the other can’t say a word because of tiredness. At the end, it was soo worth it. Unsustainable nature in its most beautiful form – high rocks, turquoise water and white pebbles. There were a bunch of tourists, but can we blame them ? Who would not like to visit such a beautiful place? When the sun went down, the tourists went up, leaving us this place to enjoy and capture the best moments. Have you been to Vis?  Did you enjoy your stay there? I’d love to hear which island you consider the best island in Croatia.
